GLI - Energy 2024 - Mozambique

Claudia Santos Cruz, Tiago Arouca Mendes and Ana Corrêa Cardoso signed the Mozambique chapter of the "GLI - Energy 2024" guide, published by the Global Legal Group.

The chapter covers the energy sector in Mozambique and highlights the government's quest to increase the share of renewable energies in the power grid, including carrying out studies on floating solar energy. The country faces regulatory challenges that make it difficult to approve projects, but is attracting international investment, such as the Sustainable Energy Fund for Africa (SEFA), aiming for universal access to electricity by 2030. Support from the African Development Bank is also mentioned, although insecurity in the north of the country poses a challenge for investors.
